About the Project

This project is inspired by the dramatic power and raw, uninhibited language of Virginie Despentes. The play is based on the story of Vernon Subutex, the story of a person who lived his life before the Internet and is trying to survive in this new world. The “defeated” of this new era are trying to redefine themselves and build a new identity, using every possible means to assert their presence in this world, to feel alive. Despentes’ bold, feminist force is the constant framework of the play.
