Instant Composition & Site-Specific Choreography Inspired by Cinematic Thinking
Project Concept
ECHOES & EMOTIONS is a choreographic research project that explores the intersection of dance, cinema, and urban space through instant composition and site-specific improvisation. Drawing inspiration from the visual and emotional grammar of film, the project invites dancers to create improvised performances shaped by photographic images—snapshots that capture a moment, suggest a before and after, and evoke an untold story.

Emotional Cartographies
We investigate the emotional landscape of an image: its empathy, its atmospheric presence, its resonance with a lived human situation in a specific place. Locations might include a narrow alley, a forgotten café, a sunlit church, or any urban space we encounter and reimagine. We aim to build bridges between cinematic memory and contemporary presence—resurrecting what has been lost to time and reinterpreting what still lingers with sentimental relevance.
By embodying cinematic imagery, we work toward a choreography of memory—a physical echo of those filmic moments that remain imprinted in our collective consciousness. We explore the sensual and emotional textures of each scene: the interplay of light and shadow, emptiness and presence, the fragility of gesture, and the invisible architecture of human experience.
We redefine cinematic space through the body and ask: what do we feel in what we cannot see? What remains after the image disappears? And how do we create a new physical narrative from it?
