About the project

Based on „A Tiny Cut in a Velvet Dress II – SPACE SEMANTICS“ –

“A Tiny Cut in a Velvet Dress” is a play about love, longing, memory, life, death and rebirth – about existence and non-existence. A velvet dress that embodies all our desires, our fears, our questions about life, the sensuality of our encounters and also the pain of separation has been given a small, almost imperceptible tear, or has always had one – like a wound and like a keyhole. Traces of the soul become the blue thread of a non-linear reflection. Spotlights on stages of a life, light and shadow draw the topography of a soul, its traces become landscapes, its memories metaphors of a journey of the destruction of balance, of the self, of nature, of the planet.

The performance is conceived for one performer (or up to three performers) at a time and is divided into three analogue parts of 15 minutes each and three intermezzi in the form of projections | screens, quasi as intermediate worlds that the audience can experience as they wander between the spaces. The world première | The prototype of SPACE SEMANTICS took place in Düsseldorf at Cubic Studios, where the artist was able to work with space and its apparent dissolution in an ideal way. FRAGILE SEMANTICS seeks its performances primarily in large spaces and especially in museums.
