About the project
– a dance performance in three parts – dance performance in three parts

‘…When the child was a child,
she threw a stick as a lance against the tree,
and it still trembles there today.’
This lance is stuck in the façade of the Stage of Cultures in Ehrenfeld, right next to the playground from where it was probably thrown many years ago…
The choreographers, dancers and filmmakers of MY LOVELY WHITE DOG interviewed numerous people to find out whether it is still “trembling” there, visited some of them at home, made them dance and elicited their memories of fulfilled and unfulfilled childhood dreams. These film conversations give rise to the topography of a complex spatial network of the interviewees’ individual inner and outer worlds, whether they were born here, came here as foreigners or still feel as such. The gestures and words touch, the touched thoughts become images and projections, movement and light – dance.
